Here
again Mikey sets himself apart from being pigeon holed and pressured to only
play one type of music. Mikey loves mostly
all music, but with his typical BPM range being inbetween 128-180, but not
necessarily in the same set. You will
therefore find electro house from the likes of DeadMau5 and Fake blood, with
this type of music demanding nothing other than fine solid beatmatching, that
Mikey is capable of consistently delivering, as only the slightest wrong nudge
on the jog wheel will send the tracks drifting apart.
Mikey
can also seamlessly mix music from across the decades with the Numero Uno mix
having KLF what time is love V Madonna Music and full-on vocals, but not
sounding terrible, due to them being key compatible.
With
Mikey being brought up in the old school days of the early 90’s it is no
surprise that he has a love for the Shamen, Ultrasonic, Qtex, Scott Brown, QFX,
Casio Brothers and other so called “Tartan Techno”. Not to mention the Dutch Dye Witness with ‘The Future’ and
‘Masterplan’ being a fav of Mikeys.
Mikey
also loves the heyday of trance, when the rave scene prematurely died in the UK
in the mid 90’s, commercial trance came into it’s own with classics like 7 days
and one week, Sandstorm, Binary Finery and Robert Miles Children. Mikey’s Mixclud boastsoosts an incredible
mix featuring a range of Tiesto classics with precision beatmatching and some
massive transitions.
If
you like your harder stuff, Mikey also packs a strong beat, being a natural at
mixing up hard house and going a step up with the latest in hardstyle, Mikey’s
mix of Showtek is an absolute blinder and featured on urban Atmospheres radio
show. Mikey has also had several mixes
broadcast by George Bowie to over 100000 listeners on Radio Clyde.
If
you like amore industrial sound, then Mikey has mixed up an exclusive Lenny Dee
tribute mix, but has not shyed away from taking on a challenge, using the
extreme ends of the pitch control to bring you new and old. Harder industrial techno can be found in
Mikey’s masters of hardcore mix, he performed at the Arches in Glasgow
featuring Angerfist and Outblast.
Back
to the 80’s is no bother either, with Mikey having the rare ability to mixup
original tracks as opposed to jumped up dance versions with a mix specially
commissioned for a model after show party featuring Duran Duran Girls of Film
and kraftwerk Model. Mikey has even
mixed 70’s Bony M Rivers of Babylon and Miami to Ibiza from the Swedish House
Mafia, so despite being 30 years apart, they all come together with DJ Blind
Mikey.
